Clayton Blackmore Autobiography Announcement

I’m delighted to announce that I’m working with the former Manchester United player Clayton Blackmore on his autobiography.

Clayton played 245 times for United in a career that started when he joined the club as a trainee in 1978, through to his eventual departure in 1994. During his time at Old Trafford he won an FA Cup and a Premier League title, though he is arguably most fondly remembered for his form during the 1990/91 season which helped United win the European Cup Winner’s Cup.

An industrious full back and midfielder, Blackmore was the original ‘utility man’; after his time at United, he went on to have a very eventful five year spell at Middlesbrough; his career lasted another decade afterwards. With stories of the popular 80’s days featuring Ron Atkinson, Norman Whiteside, Paul McGrath, United’s return to the pinnacle of English football with the likes of Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Ryan Giggs, as well as tales of a crazy few years at the Riverside before recently returning to Old Trafford to coach youngsters, Blackmore’s story is one of the more unique journeys of that era.

The as-yet untitled book will hopefully be published in 2017.
